Holy Crap! MORE after the jump…

Allison Janney guest stars on a very special Lost and lifts the skirt on the whole mythology.
This whole episode was remarkable. I am done asking questions.
3.5 hours left!

I changed up the format this time, reducing the recap and thinking more about the questions outstanding. This was done mostly because we have gone away from exposition heavy stuff to action heavy stuff and there is just less abstract stuff to recap.
Anyway, on to the recap!

For some reason, ABC decided to re-air Ab Aeterno last night. Given that we all have a week off, I thought it would be good to reflect on the season so far. The answers have been coming fast and furious, some delivered rather off the cuff (the nature of the whispers that precede the smoke monster) and some have received full episode treatment (What is Richard’s deal?).
If you stayed with the most recent Hosecast, you would have heard the Bump suggest that we might be done getting answers. Likely given the recent shift in tone and something we should all steel ourselves for if only so we can properly enjoy the resolution of the show.
Still, there are questions that out there – just hanging. Many are interesting but most are tangential to the show at this point. Here are a few of my favorites MORE after the jump…

All sorts of stuff happens as things start to come to a head. All Losties are reunited, new plans are hatched and corruption is somehow not quite as absolute as we at first thought.
I may have said this before, but I really can’t handle all this plot progression. My head might explode.

I don’t know if I can handle all this plot progression. It is a little overwhelming for a show that spent two whole seasons flashing back on every third tier character so we could fully understand the nature of their f*ck*dupedness.
Still plot! Betrayal! Conniving! Several (completely random) explosions!
Let’s get into it!

Anyone who does not love the Desmond episodes of Lost is completely lacking in any heart. On some level this is not surprising – The Odysseus analogue aside, Desmond ends up being the only unequivocal hero of this show.
His motivations are clear, his inhibitors are almost entirely external and as a result he is easier to root for than Jack, Kate and Sawyer. His love story with Penny is handled with such grand flourish that you can’t help but root for it and finally, the infrequency with which he is used as the episodic focal makes every appearance fresh and something worth waiting for.
So yeah, I motherf*cking loved this episode

WOOO!
A Jin and Sun Episode! I hope it explains why are they still alive? I guess we will see…

Everything that is totally interesting but sort of tangential gets resolved in one sweeping story. There is no flash sideways this week, we are back to flashback mode. I will admit, I found it a little jarring this way but still really good…

This week the plot starts to advance…and Sawyer takes center stage
Decent episode overall, hard to top the last two weeks though. I like Sawyer episodes the best as a rule and think his bromance with Miles is sort of hilarious and kind of random.
For the purposes of this episode’s clarity we will call Sawyer “James” in this recap

While recording the ground breaking Episode 19, xTian and The Turdhurdler decided to reflect on the first 5 episodes of Lost: The Final Season.
Before there is any consternation about the topic choice, I have to point out that the other fifteen minutes of our recording included a lengthy discussion on the state of the union for the WWE and the opening of Red Bulls Stadium in Harrison NJ. Trust me, this part had the broadest appeal.
