* Allergies have been killing me lately. I vacuumed the apartment today and suddenly, the allergies cleared up by about 90%. Amazing!

* I only drank 1 night this week. My allotment is 2. It’s Sunday night. Should I drink?!

I am bored today, people.

1. My boss is on vacation this week. What shenanigans should I get myself into?

2. When I went to get my salad for lunch today, I was tempted to say: “Just give me five portions of the egg whites.” But instead, I only got 2 portions of the egg whites for my salad. But what I really wanted was 5.

3. I’m excited for baseball season! I think I am going to catch a Thursday day game next week. The “businessman special.” I bet the likes of KillerB and XTIAN have to slave away in their offices during the day.

* My detox is going fairly well. I haven’t had any drinks alone, but it’ s been pretty difficult. I am always hankering for a drink alone! No Meat Weekends are going decently well. I’m definitely starting to eat better.

* I’ve started taking melatonin at night to help me get to sleep. Thanks to And for the tip!

* At some point (hopefully soon), I’m going to do something REALLY crazy, like start going to the gym. On a positive note, I cancelled my NYSC membership this past weekend, so after 30 days passes, I’ll only be paying for ONE gym membership (Equinox), not two.

I am flying Big Shot Class on Singapore Airlines.  Singapore has a spotless reputation amongst travelers.  People speak of the experience as if it is the end all, be all of luxury travel.  I haven’t stepped on the plane yet, but here is a summary of my initial traveler touch points:

• Singapore Airlines is supposed to be staffed with pretty woman.  True.  The people working the counter were all young-ish, pretty “Singapore” women, though I’m sure they are all just San Francisco club girls.
• The High Flying Lounge is disappointing.  There is a pathetic nod to free booze (an unopened bottle of Jim Beam and an open bottle of Chateau St. Jean chardonnay).  The food looks worse than the stuff available in the pretty nice terminal just outside the lounge walls.  I had raisin bran.  RAISIN BRAN!  How is that High Flying?  At least it has free wireless.
• I’ve been told that the plane does not have WiFi at all.  That seems really outdated for an airline hell-bent on out-classing everyone else, right?  I’ve had wireless on a US Air flight.  US AIR!!  The worst commercial airline ever.  It’s a standard feature on all Virgin America flights.  Should SA have it?

The Hose has to apologize for its recent lack of posting. There are lots of things happening.

• The Hose Editorial Board lost out on its bid to acquire the Huffington Post. We were offering $178 and a weekly foot rub for Arianna by Manolo. No go…who turns that down to join a third tier internet outfit? Who? I demand answers!
• The Hose Editorial Board is in the middle of a huge roe over what to do with American Idol this year. Killer B wants to kill it. The rest of us want it to stay. Boo KillerB! amiright? Weigh in in the comment section here.
• Now that Aaron Rodgers has proven that he is the greatest QB in the history of the NFL, how should he celebrate? My suggestion is that he bed Jenn Sterger, take several cameraphone pics of the event and SMS them to Brett Favre. Feel free to top that.
• My favorite facebook status, post Super Bowl, came from the Perkelator who posted “Moral of the stories; rapists only win twice”

• I am “working from home” today. Too much snow. No way I’m leaving the apartment today. I have plenty of pasta stocked up.

• Can we all agree that Barack Obama is a second-rate Bill Clinton? Clinton was our “First Black President.” Obama is merely our second “First Black President.” Clinton was the original Comeback Kid in ‘92 when he won the Democratic nomination and then again in ‘95 when we came back from a mid-term pummeling. Now Obama is trying to take a page from his playbook?

* I hate it when people use “deep dive.” It’s so over-used. And also, whenever that term comes up, I can’t help but imagine the speaker in some scuba gear, doing some deep diving. And it makes me laugh.

Just catching up on some news this weekend, seeing as I can’t do this while at work. My company’s firewall doesn’t allow me to hit any sites other than the tier 3 content sites owned by the company! How crazy is that?

Anyway, some great stuff in the news this week!

• Executive says she was fired for her ‘distracting’ breasts — FIRED???!!! This is absolutely shameful. Hey lady, I know of a tier 3 internet company that you can come work at!

• US Gold Medalist Will Miss The 2012 Olympics Because He Used Male “Enhancement” Pills — This is HUGE news. HAH. OK, it’s not really that big, after all. This is the sad vicious cycle of ‘roiding. You ‘roid up and your junk shrinks. Then you take male enhancement pills and get banned from the Olympics. Doh!

• Prank leaves bride-to-be paralyzed — It’s only funny until someone ends up in a wheelchair. This girl is RIDIC btw. She’s not mad or bitter at her “best friend” for paralyzing her? I guarantee that’ll change eventually…

1. They’re trying to shut down the Craigslist adult services ads? Oh no! How will Manolo find his dates?

2. There’s been a huge shitstorm about this $578M school that opened in LA. People against the school are saying that the money could have been better used elsewhere. Yes, sure, $578 could have been useful elsewhere. But funding for this school was secured years and years ago via voter-approved bonds. What do the idiot protesters want? For the school to be knocked down? For the school to not open? The money is already spent, idiots.

3. Nail salon charges an extra $5 if you’re fat? That’s RIDIC. Not in a good way.
