As you Hosers know, my Roommate and I recently moved up to Boston. There are many Boston Hosers here (shout out to And, Aron, Steph, and Zeta!), but there are also roommates of Boston Hosers!

Today, I thought it would be a good idea to bring the Roommate to And’s house to meet her two roommates: S0u1 and N0va-bear. Boy did that turn out to be an adventure.

N0va-bear is quite a lady and not easily distracted by things around her, so she briefly said hi to the Roommate and then went off to enjoy her leisure time in solitude. S0u1, ever the charismatic leader, came over to the Roommate and tried to make friends.

The Roommate surprised me by making all sorts of vocalizations I had never hear before. The most prominent among them was an extended, low growl. He sounded like a little tiger! I don’t know what’s up with the Roommate. He was being very unfriendly today. Have I kept him too sheltered? Does he need to be enrolled in a full-on socialization program?

1. The roommate commandeered my computer while I was at work and made himself a photobook from Snapfish. He ordered TWO copies. One copy he is keeping and the other copy he asked me to send to his Grandma Sue in Montana. Grandma Sue is the breeder lady who is responsible for breeding the ELITE creature that the roommate turned out to be.

2. The roommate’s fur is starting to grow back in. His stripes are starting to show again. At this point, it looks more like his stripes were tattoos and he’s in the middle of laser tattoo removal treatment.

3. Should the Hose add a new major category? So it would be: Entertainment, Life, Politics/Economics, Sports, and Cats.

You Hosers may or may not know that I am a fan of cat photography. But for a little change of pace, I also like cat art. The AY pointed me to an awesome collection of cat art here. Particularly interesting… it appears that one of And’s cats has been doing some modeling on the side?! (See above.)

Look how large the roommate’s pupils are in this photo! Everyone loves the roommate. He had a big week this past week: went to the vet and also went to the groomer. And he also got enrolled (against his will) in the Hose Spring Fitness Challenge to lose 0.2 pounds. He did his wind sprints (aka chasing a laser pointer) last night.

Took the roommate to the vet for a checkup today. He’s got a clean bill of health, except for a little tartar on his teeth. And oh, the vet says to watch his weight because he’s a bit on the chubby side. The cool thing is that I know the roommate’s official weight for the first time. He’s 10.1 pounds.

I’m giving him a Spring Fitness Challenge to lose 0.2 pounds!!!
