Wow, Ben Folds is reuniting with the other two guys Five!
The above is Manolo’s favorite Ben Folds song. I don’t remember meeting the guy but I know this is his favorite Ben Folds song. How gay is it that I know that? Super gay!
Further gayness: true story, back at University the only CD Manolo had was Inxs’ Kick. Crazy! I know! And gayer than me knowing that is that he owned it! And now back to our regularly scheduled gayness….
For the hardest core Foldphiles, here is an NYU law accapella group singing SLNiT

Has the Hose been napping? Is it time for some resurrection?
Don’t call it a come back…

ET#2 and i were trying to figure out when christmas songs actually become popular. In our lifetime for example, that one Mariah Carey song has gone from being a new pop song to a Christmas staple.
I thought there were others. For example, my inbred jersey ass thought that “Santa Claus is coming to town” was written by Bruce Springsteen in 1979 but apparently I’m wrong there.
Anyway, just another question I will probably never get answered.

Did any one watch the new Muppet movie. I found it impressively “muppety”. Jason Segal did a good job and is clearly a fan. Bret McKenzie from Flight of the Concords did a good job with a handful of original songs he wrote for the movie that hit the right tenor.
Good stuf…

I remember as a little boy watching Hall & Oates be interviewed and being very annoyed that Daryl Hall did all the talking and John Oates would just sit there half serene/half something I would later liken to “Rain Man”. Poor John Oats.
Anyway, apparently not much has changed. If you dig around on the internet long enough you will come across a web series titled “Live From Daryl’s House”. In the series, Daryl Hall invites other musicians over to his house, they hang out and then they start playing old Hall & Oats songs because that’s exactly what an up and coming artist like Mayer Hawthorne or Fitz and the Tantrums or a legends like Smokey Robinson and Booker T want to do – remember their favorite live performance of Maneater or recount the first time they listened to Abandoned Luncheonette front to back.
You’re so obnoxious, Daryl Hall. Which is sad, because your music is awesome…

This dude was unintentionally hilarious on several levels. From his 1994 album, “Constipated Monkey”….

Watched the Michael Rappaport documentary on Tribe Called Quest last night. ET#2 was polite enough to not appear overly bored while I sat there quietly reflecting on my youth and the music that defined it.
Not a great documentary and probably only interesting to the most hardcore of fans. Even then, I was not all that into watching Phife and Tip’s inability to get along and general cattiness. It felt a little too much like your typical Hose Editorial Board Meeting.
Rappaport is still the most annoying person on earth even though he is never on camera and is only occasionally heard. Drop dead Rappaport.
