I would like to usurp your position in abot 4 episodes if that's alright...
Why hasn’t xtian talked about this week’s Mad Men?
Well, this week was a bit busy for me, and its really nice outside and it also coincided with a showcase of my least favorite attractive woman on TV. So you know, that’s a recipe for lazy xTian… MORE after the jump…

Two questions -
How many of you watch Game of Thrones?
How many of you would like to hear some random thought from me on a weekly basis over the course of the second season?
I don’t know how serious a GoT crowd this is so I figured I would ask before investing a bunch of time/energy

New Shins album. Their first single was pretty bleh but this song is great. Most of their line has been replaced and its now the lead singer’s vanity project.
This pretty girl in a movie once told me “The Shins will change your life”. She was not quite right but they are very good…

BFFs
Every year, people who watch college basketball find themselves rooting against your friend and mine, John Calipari. This year, as John leads his most talented team ever, is no different. Even guys that are sort of rooting for him are very concerned about the implications. Kentucky winning just exposes the notion of amateur athletics for the farce that it really is.
This deep rooted feeling makes for the strangest of bedfellows. When not drapering women across the state of Kentucky or feuding with his former proteges, Rick Pitino coaches the University of Louisville basketball team. They have, somewhat remarkably, had a huge Big East Tournament and pressed their way into the Final Four – the bazillionth time Pitino has made it. I mean everybody loves the white suits but Rick can be tiresome as well.
Somehow we think this dude is going to save College Basketball from the likes of John Calipari? Jeez…let’s get real. No one is more crooked than Coach K. Everyone knows this but he gets a pass. Everyone on the UNC team just declared for the draft ( I guess they were in a rush to play in the d league next year), no one gives Roy Williams a hard time.
You know what? I hope Cal wins the National Title and I hope all 6 of those guys enter the NBA draft and become millionaires. The pezzonovante of the NCAA can bite me and Cal.

I'm her bitch...
Hey – Remember Mad Men? Guys would drink and randomly date rape? Good times!
When last we left our “hero”, Don got heat stroke out in California and married his nanny/secretary almost entirely for not beating the sh*t out of his kids over a milk shake spill.
This week – Jessica Pare (I guess her character has earned a name – Megan) throws a 40th birthday party for someone doing a really lame sensitive imitation of Don Draper, lots of zany advertising stuff, ginger boobage(!) and some random racial tension to remind us it is the 60s! MORE after the jump…

I know these chicks are probably 70% packaging but I gotta respect this song…
Oh yeah, be on the look out for my thoughts on the Mad Men Season Premiere first thing Tuesday!

Does anyone remember Kissing Jessica Stein?
I thought that was a great little movie. Unfortunately, it was forever ago…
Anyway, that movie was written by Jennifer Westfeldt who is awesome, and a fairly successful “working actress” and happens to be Don Draper’s Old Lady.
Her new movie is “Friends with Kids” and I am bribing ET2 with Fish Tacos so she will watch it with me.
I am convinced this will be the BIGGEST movie this weekend!

ET#2 and I watched this chick open for Bombay Bicycle Club a couple of weeks ago. In some ways, she was wildly entertaining…

ET2 and I saw “Once” (the broadway version of the indie film from a few years ago). It was noticeably more upbeat than the movie I thought but more importantly the music, at times, soared higher than it did in the movie. Worth checking out I think…
